Gabriella Körmendi has spent her career turning ideas into experiences, businesses and brands with a clear purpose.
Gabriella holds a university degree in Marketing and PR Communication. She began her career in the corporate sector, then moved into media, where she held Marketing Director roles and became a publisher in the glossy magazine market at a young age. The work developed the instincts that still guide her today: understanding people, positioning an idea, building trust and translating a strong concept into an experience that resonates.
In 2007 she left it all for the Caribbean; in 2008 she co-founded an incoming tour operator specialised in the Caribbean, focusing on corporate travel, incentives, events and international group programmes. Over nearly two decades, she helped build a trusted operation capable of delivering complex programmes for international clients and groups of up to 600 people.
This experience gave her a practical understanding of hospitality, hotel partnerships, logistics and on-site delivery — the disciplines that turn an inspiring idea into an experience that works in real life.
The pandemic marked the beginning of a new chapter. Gabriella brought together her background in marketing, business strategy, hospitality and experience design with her work in coaching, mindset and wellbeing. DIVIA Retreats grew from that intersection.
Today, she leads the vision, strategy and guest experience of every DIVIA project, supported by specialist teams assembled around the needs of each brief.

Transformative experience in the jungle
I retired fairly recently and wanted to do something very out of my usual.
I was hoping for a reboot and hoping to gain some clarity about where I want my life to go now.
Why I chose this retreat: I didn't want all yoga. I loved the variety of experiences. I was specifically looking in Mexico, plus, the dates and location matched my needs.
I feel that I am better able to cope with some of the everyday stresses that I encounter.
I felt joyful and grateful and very full of love post-rereat.
Be prepared to realize that what you think is of ultimate importance to you, is not so important after all.
In another context, I might have been upset that there was often no power at night (solar-powered electricity means that if you have a cloudy day, you run out of electricity!), or that until the last day, the shower was a trickle of cold water. I was surprised at how easily I adapted and shrugged it off.
